The Moses Lake Classic Car Club will provide a performance tool kit for every second-year student in the automotive technology program at Big Bend Community College again this year.
The tool kits will be purchased with a $1,500 donation from the club. The kits include an auto link scan tool, a light set, wire tool, remote starter, stethoscope, fuel disconnect set and spark tester. The cost is about $170 per kit.
?They are performance tools the students need, but not all of them can afford,? Mike O?Konek, BBCC automotive technology instructor, said. ?They can use the tools in the program the rest of the year, and get to keep them after that.?
The tool kits are a meaningful reward for advanced students who have completed their first year in the automotive program, O?Konek said.
The car club started purchasing tool kits for BBCC automotive students last year, and has funded scholarships for automotive students in the past.
